Gary holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Dance Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He teaches in Philadelphia, Southern New Jersey, and Boston. His visual arts skills are apparent in his creative choreography. Creating "Abstract Imagination" (Ai) is his proudest accomplishment to date.
Having danced since the age of 7, Gary now uses his skills to combine his visual art talent with dance to create "art in motion". (His artwork is included on each page of this site!) Living throughout the Midwest and East he was exposed to numerous teachers and styles and never "locked in" to one in particular. This is evident in the unique choreography he sets for Ai and for his students.
Gary has had the privilege of studying with some of the country's best teachers and choreographers in all disciplines, Ballet to Hip Hop …….. Eva Szabo, Andrew Pap, Kim Bears-Bailey, Brian Sanders, Ronan Koresh, Rennie Harris and LaVaughn Robinson, to name a few.
Motivation and inspiration has come from his peers as well ………….. Kenny Wormald ("You Got Served", MTV's "Dancelife"), Nick Baga ("Hairspray, the Movie".the Olympics with Ricky Martin, TV Land Awards), Teddy Forance (Cirque Du Soliel), Kyle Robinson ("Hell's Kitchen Tour" with Baryshnikov, The Juilliard School), Jamile McGee ("So You Think You Can Dance") and brother Steve Vaughn (Busch Gardens, UArts, Contempra Dance Theatre).
