Mission: To give children a fun filled week discovering the many aspects of the performing arts with classes in dancing, acting, and singing while studying the stage productions of a new Broadway show each week with instruction in costuming, props, sets and makeup. Students days are filled with acting, voice and dance classes, rehearsals, crafts, games, playtime and snacks. Their weekly production will be performed in The Theater District at Arts YOUniversity for friends and family on Friday afternoon at 4:30pm.

Sample Daily Schedule:

8am       Early Drop off available with games, videos and breakfast  for $5  additional fee each day.

9:30       Orientation of the days events and schedule with snack.

10am      Dance Class

11am       Acting Class

12pm       Lunch

1pm       Voice Lessons

2pm       Craft

3pm       Snack

3:30       Rehearsal

4:30-6pm    Late Pick Up available for a $5 additional fee each day.

* Camp is limited to 25 students.

* Camp will run from 9:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

* Cost of Camp is $325 for one week, $300 per week for two or three weeks,

$275 per week for four or five weeks & $250 per week for six or seven weeks.

Movie Camp

SCRIPT TO SCREEN

Movie Camp for Ages 11- 17

July 12th - 18th

Mission: To give students hands-on experience in all aspects of film making by having them conceptualize, write, cast, rehearse, light, shoot, edit & act in their own short film. Their film will be screened for all at the end of the camp and given to each student on DVD.

Monday: Students are given a theme and the task of creating a story. One story is chosen by the end of the evening.

Tuesday: Students must write and re-write a script based on the theme and story chosen. Students interested in acting in the film will audition for roles in the film.

Wednesday: Rehearsal. Students gets a crash course in acting and directing on film.

Thursday: Shooting begins. Students will assist in all aspects of the filming process.

Friday: Shooting completes. Wrap party on Friday night.

Saturday: Editing day. Students take part in editing their own film.

Sunday: Final Editing of the film.

Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 7pm Parents and friends of movie campers invited to watch the film in the Arts YOUniversity Theater District.

 

* Camp is limited to 20 students.

* Camp will run from 10a.m. till 6pm and 8pm on shoot days. Dinner will be provided. Before and After Care is available for $5 additional each day.

* Cost of Camp is $450., which includes cost of camp, film equipment & materials, dinners, screening and copy of film on DVD.

Company Intensive

Company Intensive and NYC Experience
for Teens, ages 13-18
 


For students interested in the Arts YOUniversity Pre-Professional Company or for students wishing to have an intensive week of study under Susanne, Michael and other NYC Special Guests. This week will give any students interested in Auditioning for the 2010 Company at Arts YOUniversity the sneak peak at all audition choreography. 

Summer 2010 Special Guests include Todd Shanks, master class teacher and Manhattan Dance Project master teacher,  Lees Hummel,  Master Simonson Teacher and Christina Norrup, cast member and Asst. Choreographer of Broadways, The Producers and Young Frankenstein.
 
Camp runs the week of August 23rd - 27th from 10-4pm, with a performance of studied choreography on Friday, August 27th at 7pm in the Arts YOUniversity 200 seat Theater District. Tickets for this show are FREE and the show is open to families and friends of Arts YOUniversity and Intensive Campers. 
 
Tuition is $250. for the week, per student.

The optional NYC experience, on Saturday, Aug. 28th-29th, will include round trip train fare, 2 dance classes at BDC, a Broadway workshop with cast members and show ticket, dinner and one night hotel accommodations in Times Square. Additional cost of this package is $250. per student. Parent Chaperone package available for $225.

Broadway Babies

Broadway Babies - Day Camp for Ages 3 - 6

July 19th - 23rd and July 26th - July 30th


Mission: To give children, ages 3-6, a fun filled week discovering the many aspects of the performing arts with classes in dancing, acting, and singing. Students' days are filled with storybook acting, music and creative movement classes, rehearsals, crafts, games, playtime and snacks. Their weekly production will be performed for friends and family on Friday afternoon at 2:30pm.

Classes will be on Wednesdays from 7-9pm in July and August. Zumba from 7-8 and Yoga from 8-9pm.
 $10. per class or $16. for both classes.
****Summer Adult Class Card Savings.....$120. for all 8 weeks of both Yoga and Zumba*****

Please note that week of July 12th only,  Zumba will be held on Monday the 12th from 7-8pm and Wed. the 14th Yoga from 8-9pm. All other weeks of July and August see schedule above.

Master Class Thursdays from 6-8pm for Ages 11 and up

Weekly master class with Advanced Technique and choreography in Musical Theater, Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Tap. Each week will feature a different member of the Arts YOUniversity Faculty specializing in one of the styles. Teachers will include Kacey, Lisa, Susanne, Michael, and Sergio.

Movements of Grace Company Class for Ages 12-18
Wednesdays August 4, 11, 18, 25 & September 1st,  8th from 5-7pm
 
  • These sessions are OPEN to potential members ages 12 & up who are considering or planning to audition in September. Strongly recommended for those serious about auditioning.
  • Cost is $10 per class. 
  • This is a great way to get a feel for modern liturgical dance, see what MOG is about and have the opportunity to learn choreography. Participation in summer sessions does not mean one MUST audition, and does NOT guarantee being cast in September. 
  • These sessions are free (but mandatory) to current MOG members re-auditioning.
  • Choreography learned this summer will be used during auditions in September.

BASICS:
My College Audition and ArtsYOUniversity’s BOOTCAMP 2010 is for high school students looking to obtain a theatre, musical theatre or music degree in college.
We strongly encourage rising seniors and juniors in high school to attend. While junior year is the prime year to begin your college audition process, it is never too early to begin. We welcome sophomores and freshman looking to get a head start on the process.
If you are applying to colleges and universities in 2010/2011 - this Bootcamp is truly not to be missed!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. We do not provide housing. Each student is responsible for transportation to and from the venue.

PRICING:
BOOTCAMP weekend is $299.00

Open House Registrations
Open Houses, Facility Tours, curriculum information, class observation and registrations for new and interested Families will be held in July, August and September on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9pm.
 
There are three FAST and EASY ways to register for classes at Arts YOUniversity.
 
1. New and Past Families can register online at our above My Arts You link by creating/logging in a family account, entering your students info and choosing classes. You will then receive an email prompting you to remit Registration/Insurance Fee and first month's tuition payment within 5 days to hold your classes.
Payments can be made via Credit card over the phone at 609-586-3008 or by fax at 609-586-3105 or in person on any one of our Open House nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9pm.
 
2. New and Past families can register by fax, by downloading our Registration Packet at our above link Download Forms, completing them at home and then faxing them, with your Credit Card page including Visa or MC information, to 609-586-3105.
 
3. New and Past families can register in person at Arts YOUniversity any Tuesday or Thursday evening in July & August from 5-9pm at our Open Houses. If needed, you will receive a facility tour, assistance with class selections, curriculum and creating a schedule that works best for your whole family.
 
Please note that all registered families will receive a Class Confirmation Email in late August welcoming our students and their families, confirming class selections, and reviewing all important information to help you feel ready to go for our upcoming season of classes and performances.
